Volaris Sees 4.9% RPM Growth and 86.2% Load Factor in May
VLRS•Volaris reported May RPMs rose 4.9% year-over-year as ASM capacity dipped 0.4%, driven by a 15.9% jump in international RPMs. Consolidated load factor climbed 4.3 percentage points to 86.2%, with 2.7 million passengers carried during the month.
1. Capacity vs RPMs
In May 2026, Volaris reduced available seat miles by 0.4% to 2,973 million, while total revenue passenger miles climbed 4.9% to 2,562 million. International RPMs surged 15.9% to 1,030 million despite a 1.4% domestic RPM decline to 1,532 million.
2. Enhanced Load Factors
Consolidated load factor increased 4.3 percentage points to 86.2%, with domestic load factor rising to 89.3% (+2.7pp) and international to 81.9% (+7.2pp). Management attributed improvements to disciplined capacity alignment and strong close-in bookings on cross-border routes.
3. Passenger Traffic Growth
Volaris transported 2.683 million passengers in May, up 7.2% year-over-year. Domestic travelers numbered 1.982 million (+4.6%) and international travelers reached 701,000 (+15.4%), reflecting robust demand across key markets.
