VolitionRx Partners with Sysmex to Optimize Nu.Q NETs Assay, Addressing $3.8B Market
VNRX•VolitionRx has entered a collaboration with Sysmex to optimize its Nu.Q® NETs H3.1 assay on Sysmex’s global in vitro diagnostics platform, targeting diseases associated with NETosis such as sepsis. The agreement supports VolitionRx’s out-license strategy and addresses a total addressable market of $3.8 billion.
1. Collaboration Overview
On June 17, VolitionRx announced a collaboration with Sysmex to transfer and optimize its Nu.Q® NETs H3.1 assay onto Sysmex’s in vitro diagnostics analyzers, initiating an optimization phase tailored to NETosis-related conditions.
2. Strategic Licensing Strategy
This agreement advances VolitionRx’s plan to out-license its proprietary Nu.Q NETs test to global diagnostics leaders, leveraging Sysmex’s regulatory experience, disease expertise and extensive installed base of analyzers.
3. Targeted Diseases and Clinical Impact
The optimized assay will focus on diseases where Neutrophil Extracellular Traps drive pathology, including sepsis and other acute or chronic conditions, aiming to deliver improved diagnostic insights and affordable patient monitoring.
4. Market Potential and Next Steps
VolitionRx estimates a total addressable market of $3.8 billion for the Nu.Q NETs assay; following successful assay transfer, the parties will commence an optimization phase to prepare for eventual commercialization.
