Wärtsilä wins order for Wärtsilä 25 Ammonia auxiliary engines for two midsize gas carriers

NVGS•Wärtsilä said sustainable ammonia use can cut total greenhouse gas emissions by at least 90% versus comparable diesel engines.
The vessels are being built at Nantong CIMC SOE for Navigator Amon Shipping, a joint venture of Navigator Gas and Amon Maritime.
Wärtsilä booked orders in Q2 2026 to supply Wärtsilä 25 Ammonia auxiliary engines for two 51,350 m3 midsize LPG/ammonia carriers.
The scope includes SCR NOx reducers and gas valve units, with deliveries to the shipyard starting in June 2027.
A separate order for a controllable pitch propeller propulsion system was booked in Q3 2026.
