Wabash says U.S. confirms China trailer duties as 25% Section 232 tariff applies to imports

1. China trailer duties
The U.S. International Trade Commission issued a final affirmative injury ruling on Chinese van-type trailer imports on Sept. 25, 2026, and the Commerce Department will issue antidumping and countervailing duty orders. Cash deposits total about $101,300 per $35,000 trailer; a 25% Section 232 tariff has applied to imported trailers as derivative steel and aluminum products since April 6, 2026.
2. Other investigations pending
Probes involving Canada and Mexico remain pending. Preliminary antidumping findings triggered cash deposits, with final Commerce decisions expected around Dec. 17, 2026, and final ITC votes expected in early 2027; duties would stack on top of Section 232 tariffs.
