Wall St set to open higher on tech rebound before Nvidia results, inflation data

At 08:28 a.m. ET, Dow E-minis YMcv1 were up 279 points, or 0.52%, S&P 500 E-minis EScv1 were up 36 points, or 0.47%, and Nasdaq 100 E-minis NQcv1 were up 274.25 points, or 0.94%.
The benchmark S&P 500 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq .IXIC closed lower on Monday after a selloff in semiconductor shares.
Markets largely shrugged off the latest U.S. economic threats against Iran. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that countries continuing to trade with Tehran could be forced out of the dollar-based finance system.
However, "Bessent framed the economic plan as a means to bring Iran to the negotiating table and for the U.S. to gain an upper hand, (rather) than an escalation," said Mohit Kumar, an economist at Jefferies.
Kumar said that Iran was likely to agree to a deal with the U.S. close to the U.S. midterm elections when President Donald Trump would be willing to make the most concessions.
