Wall Street indexes churn near flat

On the earnings front, Datadog's forecast for slowing third-quarter revenue growth overshadowed its raised annual outlook, sending the high-flying stock down 15%. It is the biggest laggard in the S&P 500 technology index.
Tech's next weakest performer is Western Digital, which is down 11% after investors with lofty expectations were unimpressed with its forecast for quarterly revenue slightly above Wall Street estimates on strong AI-driven demand for its hard disk drives.
On the other side of the spectrum, shares of Ralph Lauren are up 5% and leading gainers in the consumer discretionary sector after the high-end apparel company raised its annual revenue forecast.
And Parker-Hannifin Corp shares are jumping 9% after the motion and control technology company forecast annual profit above estimates on strong aerospace parts demand.

Main U.S. indexes remain mixed
U.S. equity indexes are sluggish on Thursday with the Dow dipping, the S&P 500 close to flat, and the Nasdaq Composite rising slightly, after mixed earnings reports.
With Middle East progress in question, oil prices are higher as investors wait for the outcome of Iran-Oman talks, while reports of attacks on Saudi tankers in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden renew supply concerns.
