Walmart said it “prices products, not people” and does not use personal information, income, shopping history, urgency or willingness to pay to set individualized prices. It also rejected claims that it raises prices during heat waves or ahead of snowstorms, saying digital shelf labels replace paper tags and do not enable individualized or dynamic pricing.
