Warner Bros. Discovery Launches Fourth Virginia Jellystone Park Camp-Resort; CNN Sale Talk Stalls
Northgate Resorts acquired an 80-acre Williamsburg site and will open Warner Bros. Discovery’s fourth Virginia Jellystone Park Camp-Resort on March 2, 2026 featuring pools, RV sites and character interactions. Barry Diller’s reported CNN bid was never formally considered or escalated to Warner Bros. Discovery’s board, the Wall Street Journal said.
1. Warner Bros. Discovery Refutes Barry Diller CNN Acquisition Speculation
A Wall Street Journal report clarified that media mogul Barry Diller’s supposed interest in acquiring CNN never progressed to the Warner Bros. Discovery board level. According to WBD spokespeople, the proposal was informally discussed by Diller’s team but dismissed early in preliminary talks. The company reiterated that CNN was not and is not for sale, underlining WBD’s commitment to retaining its flagship news network as part of its core direct-to-consumer and advertising strategy. This development helps stabilize investor confidence in WBD’s asset portfolio after recent debates over strategic divestitures prompted by debt reduction targets.
2. WBD Global Experiences Partners on New Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in Virginia
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences has teamed with Northgate Resorts to convert the 80-acre Williamsburg Campground into Virginia’s fourth Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort. Set to open March 2, 2026, the project adds to WBDGE’s location-based entertainment network—already comprising more than 75 sites across North America. Northgate, which operates 19 existing Jellystone locations, will introduce glamping cabins, premium RV sites, three pools (one heated), splashgrounds, jumping pillows, laser tag and character meet-and-greets. The new resort sits near Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Busch Gardens, reinforcing WBDGE’s strategy to leverage iconic IP for family-oriented experiences and diversify revenue streams beyond streaming and linear channels.
