Waters Unveils Xevo MRT P10 MS with 20× Sensitivity and Cyclic IMS P20 MS with >10× MS/MS Sensitivity
WAT•Waters launched the Xevo MRT P10 MS benchtop system, delivering up to 20× higher MS/MS sensitivity, 2× faster acquisition speeds and 40% more lipid identifications, available summer 2026. It added the Cyclic IMS P20 MS with >10× MS/MS sensitivity and a 50% extended mass range, expected September 2026.
1. Xevo MRT P10 MS Launch
Waters introduced the Xevo MRT P10 MS benchtop QToF platform, offering up to 20× greater MS/MS sensitivity over its predecessor and 2× faster acquisition speeds. The system identifies up to 40% more lipids by LC-MS/MS and integrates the DESI XS ion source for six-fold higher spatial analysis throughput down to cellular resolution.
2. Cyclic IMS P20 MS Introduction
The Cyclic IMS P20 MS platform delivers more than 10× MS/MS sensitivity enhancement and extends the upper mass range by 50% to over 100 kDa. It combines multipass cyclic ion mobility with MALDI XS and DESI XS imaging and advanced fragmentation tools to provide comprehensive structural and spatial omics insights in a single experiment.
3. Availability and Market Impact
Both instruments will be showcased at ASMS 2026, with the Xevo MRT P10 MS shipping globally in summer 2026 and the Cyclic IMS P20 MS launching in September 2026. These platforms are positioned to accelerate multiomics research, biotherapeutic development and high-throughput biomedical workflows worldwide.
