Webull sinks after US House panel report flags China ties
BULL•Webull shares fell 19.1% to a near-four-month low after a bipartisan House panel said the trading platform was tied in structural ways to the Chinese government. Webull disputed the report, calling its conclusions inaccurate and unsupported.
1. Panel report weighs on shares
The House Select Committee on China said its report found a profound gap between Webull’s public marketing and actual control. Webull said it had cooperated with the committee and noted that it stores US customer data in the United States.
2. Regulatory uncertainty
Scotiabank analysts said the near-term question is whether the findings lead executive agencies or financial regulators to initiate or broaden reviews. The brokerage said the report would weigh on valuation rather than actual financial results. Siebert Financial analyst Brian Vieten suspended his buy rating and price target, citing uncertainty around potential regulatory and operational implications.
