WeRide Integrates Robotaxi Booking in Guangzhou WeChat Service, Reaching 1 Billion Users
WeRide’s Robotaxis became available for booking and payment through Tencent’s WeChat Mobility Service mini program in Guangzhou on March 12, extending service access to over one billion users. The company’s global Robotaxi fleet surpassed 1,023 vehicles in January 2026 and aims to exceed 2,600 by year-end to accelerate commercial profitability.
1. Integration with Tencent Mobility Service
WeRide's Robotaxis were seamlessly integrated into Tencent's WeChat Mobility Service mini program on March 12, enabling users in Guangzhou to book and pay for driverless rides without downloading additional apps.
2. Regional Rollout Plans
Following the Guangzhou launch, the Robotaxi service will be added to Tencent Maps and gradually extended to other Chinese cities, leveraging WeChat's ecosystem to boost ride frequency and reach a broader user base.
3. Fleet Expansion and Profitability Objectives
As of January 2026, WeRide operated a global Robotaxi fleet of over 1,023 vehicles and aims to exceed 2,600 units by year-end, driving towards large-scale commercialization and per-vehicle profitability.
