WeRide Launches Slovakia’s First AV Program With Robotaxi and Robobus
WeRide will deploy Slovakia’s first autonomous vehicle program under a partnership with ELEVATE Slovakia, testing Robotaxi, Robobus and Robovan fleets in Bratislava in H1 2026 before expanding to Košice and the High Tatras. This entry marks WeRide’s fourth European market and extends its footprint to 12 countries.
1. Partnership with ELEVATE Slovakia
WeRide signed a landmark agreement with the ELEVATE Slovakia initiative, bringing together the Slovak Ministry of Transport, City of Bratislava, Slovak Post, academic institutions and private firms to establish a regulatory-ready framework for autonomous mobility.
2. Strategic European Expansion
This rollout marks WeRide’s fourth European market after France, Belgium and Switzerland, raising its global presence to more than 40 cities across 12 countries and reinforcing its position as a leading AV technology provider.
3. Testing Timeline and Locations
The first autonomous vehicles are scheduled to arrive in spring 2026, with supervised testing in Bratislava during the first half of 2026 and subsequent deployments planned for Košice and the High Tatras resort area.
4. Multi-Product Deployment
WeRide will field its full product portfolio—including Robotaxi, Robobus, Robovan and Robosweeper—to support passenger mobility, parcel logistics with Slovak Post and smart sanitation services under municipal partners.
