Werner survey finds rising costs pressure 95% of transportation leaders
WERN•A Werner and Supply Chain Dive survey of 151 transportation leaders found 95% face pressure from rising operating costs. Hybrid strategies combining brokerage and asset-based providers were the most common operating model, at 44%.

The survey found that total landed cost and service reliability each ranked highly for 98% of respondents. Real-time visibility mattered to 96%, while pricing transparency mattered to 95%. Brokerage-related challenges included significant rate volatility for 55% of shippers and communication breakdowns during disruptions for 50% in the past year.
