WFG•West Fraser reported a third-quarter 2026 net loss of $80 million, compared with $61 million in the prior quarter, as lower Southern yellow pine lumber and OSB prices and higher costs weighed on earnings. Adjusted EBITDA fell to $38 million from $59 million.
West Fraser attributed its weaker third-quarter 2026 earnings to lower Southern yellow pine lumber and OSB prices, alongside higher costs. Its net loss widened to $80 million from $61 million in the previous quarter, while adjusted EBITDA declined to $38 million from $59 million.
Higher spruce, pine and balsam fir pricing and inventory reserve releases partly cushioned the decline. North American engineered wood products posted an adjusted EBITDA loss of $4 million, compared with a $13 million profit in the previous quarter. Earnings improved year over year, primarily on higher lumber pricing and lower export duty expense.
