Western Exploration Funds 2026-27 Program to Double Gravel Creek’s 800,000 oz Gold Resource
Western Exploration has fully funded its 2026-27 program to advance Doby George permitting and expand Gravel Creek’s resource above 800,000 oz Au and 14 million oz Ag. A USGS study and AI-driven 3D model complete March 2026, with a drill plan by May and Doby George mine plan in Q2.
1. Fully Funded 2026-27 Exploration Program
Western Exploration has secured full funding for its 2026-27 exploration and development program, covering engineering contracts, baseline studies, and permitting services for both Doby George and Gravel Creek projects. Preparatory work is underway to leverage private fee land and accelerate power and water infrastructure development in 2027.
2. Gravel Creek Resource Expansion
At Gravel Creek, the company has defined a resource exceeding 800,000 ounces of gold and 14 million ounces of silver. A USGS genesis study and an AI-driven alteration and geochemistry evaluation will feed a comprehensive GeoMax 3D model, enabling an updated drill plan scheduled for May 2026.
3. Doby George Permitting Progress
Western Exploration has engaged Kappes, Cassiday & Associates and Stantec Consulting as lead consultants for Doby George, initiating baseline environmental studies and engineering design. The company plans to submit its mine plan of operations to the U.S. Forest Service in Q2 2026 to advance permitting.
4. Future Studies and Milestones
Infill and expansion drilling to convert inferred resources and expand oxide mineralization is slated for completion by year-end 2026. A Pre-Feasibility Study is expected in Q1 2027, with a full environmental study by mid-2027, all activities fully funded.
