Whirlpool Q4 Revenue Down 0.9% to $4.10B, Teases Nugget Ice and UV Tech
In Q4, Whirlpool's revenue fell 0.9% to $4.10 billion as North and Latin American sales volumes dropped. Ahead of KBIS 2026, Whirlpool will unveil industry-first nugget ice refrigerators, UV laundry sanitation and smart oven innovations across four powerhouse brands.
1. Fourth-Quarter Revenue Declines on Volume Weakness in Americas
Whirlpool Corporation reported a 0.9% year-over-year decline in fourth-quarter revenue, totaling $4.10 billion, as lower unit volumes in both North America and Latin America weighed on top-line growth. North American shipment volumes fell by approximately 3%, driven by softer replacement demand and a moderation in new-home construction activity. In Latin America, revenue slipped by 4% as macroeconomic headwinds and currency fluctuations constrained consumer purchases. Despite these headwinds, Whirlpool maintained an operating margin of 8.5%, supported by cost-control measures and mix improvements in higher-margin product categories such as built-in cooking and specialty refrigeration.
2. KBIS 2026 Showcase Reinforces Innovation Leadership Across Four Brands
At the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Orlando, Whirlpool presented more than a dozen new product innovations across its Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir and Maytag brands. Highlights included the industry’s first integrated nugget ice refrigerator, which delivers soft, chewable ice on-demand; a UV Clean laundry sanitation system engineered to eliminate 99.9% of common household bacteria; and the KitchenAid Intelligent Cooking Camera with Doneness Detection, which uses real-time image analysis to optimize oven temperatures. The company’s 36-inch True Counter-Depth French Door with nugget ice and XL-capacity crisper drawer target both performance and premium segments. Strategically, these launches aim to drive mid-single-digit revenue growth in North America during 2026 by capturing share in the premium kitchen and laundry appliance categories.
3. Portfolio and Manufacturing Footprint Support Long-Term Growth
As the last remaining major U.S.-based appliance manufacturer, Whirlpool operates 40 manufacturing and technology research centers worldwide and employs 44,000 team members. In 2024, the company generated approximately $17 billion in annual sales, with nearly 90% of that revenue derived from the Americas. Whirlpool continues to invest in digital-enabled factories—rolling out advanced robotics and IoT analytics to improve yield and reduce lead times—and is expanding its spare-parts distribution network to improve in-home service response times. These capacity and service enhancements position the company to capitalize on the trend toward premiumization and to defend share against both domestic and import competition.
