Wilshire sees US corporate pension funded ratio rising 0.9 points to 111.9% in August
SPY•US corporate pension funded ratio rises in August
Wilshire estimated the aggregate funded ratio for U.S. corporate pension plans rose 0.9 percentage point in August to 111.9%.
- Asset values increased 1.1 percentage points, partly offset by a 0.3 percentage point rise in liabilities.
- Funded ratio rose 8.4% year to date, up 9.7% over the past 12 months.
- U.S. equities rebounded, with the Wilshire 5000 supported by strong technology earnings and lower oil prices.
- Liability discount yields slipped as higher Treasury yields were offset by tighter corporate credit spreads.
