WISeKey Subsidiaries Plan 100-Satellite Quantum Orbital Cloud with 99.9% SLA
WISeKey’s subsidiaries SEALSQ and WISeSat will deploy a 100-satellite Quantum Spatial Orbital Cloud from 2024 through 2033, offering QKD, QRNG and identity services under a contractually guaranteed 99.9% uptime SLA. The program targets subscription revenue from banks, governments and defense agencies for post-quantum security.
1. QSOC Program Overview
WISeKey’s SEALSQ and WISeSat subsidiaries will partner to develop and operate the world’s first commercial Quantum Spatial Orbital Cloud (QSOC), deploying a 100-satellite constellation from 2024 through full operational capability in 2033. The service will deliver quantum key distribution, quantum random number generation and post-quantum identity services to enterprises, banks, governments and defense agencies on a subscription basis.
2. WISeSat’s Role
WISeSat will act as the dedicated constellation owner and operator, designing, manufacturing, launching and managing the 100 satellites along with ground segments, frequency licenses, optical links and mission control. It will provide orbital capacity to SEALSQ under a multi-year, capacity-based service arrangement with defined availability and performance levels.
3. SEALSQ’s Role
SEALSQ will deploy its proprietary quantum technology stack across the QSOC constellation, operating the managed cloud platform, controlling quantum payloads, service catalog, pricing and customer experience. The company intends to secure long-term access to WISeSat’s infrastructure to deliver a contractually guaranteed 99.9% uptime SLA to end-customers.
4. Commercial and Strategic Implications
This clear separation of infrastructure and cloud services mirrors hyperscale data center economics and represents the first SLA-backed commercial quantum security service. By leveraging WISeSat’s orbital expertise and SEALSQ’s post-quantum technology, WISeKey positions itself to capture growing demand for unhackable communications and future-proof security solutions.
