WM CEO Fish to retire, insider Morris named as next chief
WM•CEO transition announced
Aug. 26 (Reuters) - WM said on Wednesday CEO Jim Fish would retire after more than 25 years with the waste management firm and named its president John Morris as its next chief executive.
Morris, who has held several positions at WM including chief strategy officer and chief operating officer, will become CEO and join the board effective January 4, 2027.
WM business and market position
The Houston, Texas-based company provides collection, recycling and disposal services to millions of residential, commercial, industrial, medical and municipal customers throughout the U.S. and Canada, according to its website.
WM and Republic Services are the two largest garbage collection companies across significant regions of the U.S., operating alongside municipal waste departments.
