W.R. Berkley posted net income to common stockholders of $452.26 million, lifting diluted EPS to $1.15 from $1 for the three months ended June 30, 2026.
Underwriting profitability improved as the GAAP combined ratio narrowed 1.6 percentage points to 90%.
Net investment income rose 10% to $418.71 million, while net realized and unrealized results swung to a loss of $55 million from a gain of $31 million.
Gross premiums written increased 4% to $4.14 billion, with the Insurance segment up 5% to $3.8 billion while Reinsurance & Monoline Excess fell 8% to $341.23 million.
Catastrophe losses eased to $62 million from $99 million, supporting a consolidated loss ratio of 61.5% versus 63.1%.
