Xanadu Opens Albany Office as U.S. Workforce Grows Fivefold Since 2023
XNDU•Xanadu has opened a New York State office in Albany and expanded its U.S. operations to 19 states. Its U.S.-based workforce has grown more than fivefold since 2023 and is expected to increase further by year-end, leveraging partnerships with Corning, Applied Materials, DISCO and EV Group.

Xanadu has established a new office in Albany, New York, choosing the emerging quantum computing and semiconductor hub as a strategic base. The company now maintains a distributed presence across 19 states, including scaled operations in the San Francisco Bay Area, to enhance collaboration with local industry and accelerate customer deployment.
2. Workforce Scaling and Projections
Since 2023, Xanadu’s U.S.-based headcount has risen more than fivefold, reflecting rapid demand for photonic quantum computing expertise. The company anticipates a further significant increase in U.S. staff by year-end to support R&D, manufacturing integration and industrial partnerships.
3. Technical Milestones and Key Partnerships
Building on its Aurora system and on-chip GKP qubit demonstrations, Xanadu has secured partnerships with Corning, Applied Materials, DISCO and EV Group to leverage established photonics and semiconductor supply chains. These collaborations aim to accelerate modular, networkable quantum hardware development and pave the way for fault-tolerant, mass-producible photonic quantum computers.
