Xcel Energy rises on Q2 profit beat
XEL•Xcel Energy beats second-quarter profit estimates
Shares of utility Xcel Energy XEL.O rose 2.2% to $80.50 in premarket trading.
The company topped second-quarter profit estimates, driven by increased recovery of electric infrastructure investments.
Xcel posted adjusted profit of 93 cents per share versus estimates of 78 cents per share, according to data compiled by LSEG.
The utility's net income came in at $586 million, or 93 cents per share, a 32% rise from $444 million, or 75 cents per share, a year ago.
As of the last close, XEL was up 6.6% year to date.
