Xylem to buy Indicor's Cornell Pump, Roper Pump businesses for $1.46 billion

Aug. 11 (Reuters) - Xylem said on Tuesday it would buy valve- and pump-maker Indicor's Cornell Pump and Roper Pump businesses for $1.46 billion, expanding its industrial and municipal pumping operations.

Here are the details:

• The acquisition would increase the water-management company's exposure to sectors benefiting from infrastructure investment and rising resource demand.
• Cornell Pump and Roper Pump make specialized pumps that handle slurries, solids and other difficult materials for construction, mining, agriculture, energy, food and beverage and municipal applications.
• The businesses are expected to generate more than $260 million in revenue in 2026. Xylem expects $23 million in annual cost savings and about $170 million in tax benefits from the acquisition.
• The businesses would become part of Xylem's Water Infrastructure segment, and the deal is expected to be accretive to Xylem's adjusted earnings per share in 2027.
• The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
