Korean chipmaking heavyweights Samsung Electronics 005930.KS and SK Hynix 000660.KS followed suit, soaring nearly 30% on Friday.
In early European trades, pan-region futures STXEc1 were up 0.6%, German DAX futures FDXc1 gained 0.4%, and FTSE futures FFIc1 were 0.4% higher.
