York Space Prices $34 IPO for 18.5M Shares, Eyes Jan. 29 NYSE Debut

York Space priced upsized IPO at $34 for 18.5M shares with a 30-day option for 2.775M more and plans NYSE debut on Jan. 29, 2026. Goldman Sachs, Jefferies and Wells Fargo lead the offering alongside J.P. Morgan and Citigroup as joint bookrunners.

1. IPO Valuation and Cash Position

York Space Systems completed its initial public offering at a valuation of approximately $4.25 billion. The company issued 18.5 million shares and granted underwriters a 30-day option on an additional 2.775 million shares. Pro forma to the offering, York holds over $300 million in net cash, providing a strong liquidity buffer to fund near-term growth initiatives and support ongoing product development.

2. Recent Financial Performance

In 2023, York generated $238 million in revenue. While the company recorded an operating loss of $92 million in 2024—roughly double the prior year’s deficit—recent quarterly results show accelerating revenue growth and a narrowing of losses. Management attributes this trend to higher production throughput, improved yield rates on satellite builds, and ramped-up service contracts with government agencies.

3. Strategic Defense Partnerships and Mission Record

Since beginning operations in 2012, York Space Systems has completed 74 missions and has launched 21 satellites for the U.S. Space Development Agency in a single September deployment. CEO Dirk Wallinger has emphasized the company’s end-to-end integration expertise and has positioned York as a key systems integrator for a major national missile defense initiative with a Congressional Budget Office estimate of potential program spending exceeding $800 billion over time.

4. Post-IPO Market Reception

York’s shares opened with an initial gain north of 10% on its first trading day, a notable achievement given challenging market conditions for new space offerings. In early trading following the debut, the stock retraced some of its opening gains, slipping by roughly 4% in pre-market activity. Market observers point to the broader space sector’s volatility ahead of several anticipated public listings as contributing to the share price fluctuation.
