Shares of Taco Bell parent Yum Brands (NYSE: YUM) were up 1.4% at $149.99 in premarket trading.
YUM fell about 2.7% on Friday due to its use of iceberg lettuce from Mexico linked to an ongoing cyclosporiasis outbreak and subsequent traffic decline at outlets.
“The market realizing that this is not a long-term problem, combined with news that the U.S. FDA's Taylor Foods test may have been a false positive, is helping the stock,” said Ari Felhandler, analyst at Morningstar Equity Research.
Taco Bell said on Friday that it has completed removal of affected Taylor Farms lettuce from restaurants.
The stock was up 25.3% year to date, as of the last close.
