Zealand Pharma reports ZP9830 well tolerated in Phase 1 multiple-dose trial
ZEAL•Zealand Pharma reported that ZP9830 was well tolerated in a Phase 1 trial of 32 healthy participants, with no dose-limiting safety findings. A Phase 1b trial in plaque psoriasis is underway, and a Phase 2 trial in another autoimmune disease is planned for the first half of 2027.
1. Phase 1 safety results
Zealand Pharma announced positive Phase 1 multiple-dose results for ZP9830, its Kv1.3 ion channel blocker, on October 19, 2026. The trial enrolled 32 healthy participants, who received four weeks of treatment and had safety follow-up through day 41. All treatment-emergent adverse events with ZP9830 were mild and non-serious, and no dose-limiting safety findings emerged.
2. Further trials planned
Pharmacokinetic results support longer-duration studies. A Phase 1b trial with efficacy endpoints in plaque psoriasis is underway, and Zealand Pharma plans to start a Phase 2 trial in an additional autoimmune disease in the first half of 2027.
