1. Zebra Unveils Next-Generation AI-Native Handheld Devices

At NRF 2026 in New York City, Zebra Technologies introduced two ultra-rugged handheld mobile computers, the TC501 and TC701, featuring the industry’s first AMOLED display and the first color-imaging scan engine. Powered by Qualcomm® Dragonwing™ Q-6690 processors and equipped with Wi-Fi 7, 5G and UHF RFID capabilities, these devices deliver up to 30% faster data capture and 25% longer battery life compared with previous models. Zebra estimates that customers deploying the TC501 and TC701 can reduce scan-to-shelf time by 40%, enabling frontline associates to process 150 more items per shift on average.

2. Frontline AI Suite Drives Real-Time Decision-Making

Zebra’s expanded Frontline AI Suite now comprises three core components—AI Enablers, AI Blueprints and the GenAI-driven Zebra Companion. The on-device AI Enablers support simultaneous barcode scanning, text recognition and object identification with sub-200 millisecond latency. AI Blueprints automate up to five multi-step workflows such as shelf merchandising and proof-of-delivery, reducing error rates by up to 22%. Deployed at 15 major U.S. retailers, Zebra Companion’s Knowledge and Sales agents have delivered a 17% lift in upsell conversions and cut associate onboarding time by 35%.

3. Comprehensive Retail Solutions to Optimize Operations

Beyond mobile computers, Zebra showcased a suite of complementary innovations: ShareCradle, a modular charging system supporting USB Power Delivery 3.1 that cuts device-charging downtime by 50%; the SP20 single-plane scanner with an 80% larger field-of-view that accelerates checkout throughput by 20%; and the Android-based Salesforce Retail Cloud POS, co-developed with Salesforce to streamline transactions and customer-data integration. Additionally, Zebra’s Device Rental Service offers flexible access to TC78, TC58e and TC27 units, helping retailers scale during peak seasons without capital expenditure. Collectively, these solutions aim to drive a 15% reduction in labor costs and a 12% improvement in on-shelf availability for global retail customers.
