1. US Suspends Key Tech Restrictions
The U.S. government paused prohibitions on China Telecom’s U.S. operations, sales restrictions on Chinese-made data-center equipment and a proposed ban on TP-Link routers ahead of an April Trump-Xi summit. The suspension also delays limits on China Unicom and China Mobile internet services and a rule blocking Chinese electric vehicles, potentially easing Alibaba’s cross-border business constraints.
2. Zelos Gains from Alibaba Partnership
Robotics firm Zelos entered a strategic alliance to utilize Alibaba’s artificial intelligence platform and leverage its logistics network. The deal grants Zelos access to cloud-based AI tools and Alibaba’s fulfillment infrastructure, enabling the company to accelerate its robotic automation deployments and scale technology trials across global supply chains.
