Zentalis Appoints Shannon Campbell and Sarah Kelly to Bolster Azenosertib Launch Readiness

Zentalis Pharmaceuticals has appointed Shannon Campbell to its Board of Directors and named Sarah Kelly Senior Vice President of Commercial Strategy. These hires aim to build the commercial and operational infrastructure needed for the planned launch of its investigational WEE1 inhibitor, azenosertib, in Cyclin E1-positive platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.
2. Shannon Campbell’s Role and Background
Campbell brings over 30 years of oncology commercial experience, including leadership roles at Merus as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, as well as senior positions at Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Bayer Healthcare. Her expertise in scaling biopharma commercial operations will guide Zentalis through late-stage development and launch planning for azenosertib.
3. Sarah Kelly’s Role and Background
Kelly’s 30-year career spans senior commercial and business development roles at Amgen, Turning Point, Spectrum and Agilent. Her track record in building companion diagnostic and therapeutic launch strategies will support market access and field leadership efforts for azenosertib’s potential commercialization.
4. Azenosertib Trial Milestones
Zentalis expects a year-end 2026 topline readout from the DENALI Phase 2 registrational trial, designed to support accelerated approval for Cyclin E1-positive platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. The company has also dosed the first patient in the ASPENOVA Phase 3 confirmatory trial, aimed at full approval and ex-U.S. registrations.
