Zimmer Biomet names Chintan Desai Asia Pacific president, replacing Sang Yi

Zimmer Biomet named Chintan Desai president of its Asia Pacific region, effective immediately.
Desai joins from Alcon, where he was vice president and general manager for International Growth and Export Markets, based in Switzerland. He previously led Alcon’s Asia Pacific Surgical business from Singapore.
Desai also spent more than 22 years at GE Healthcare in senior regional leadership roles in the U.S., Singapore and Australia.
He replaces Sang Yi, who will leave the company on Aug. 28 following a transition period.
