Zoetis falls on lowered annual outlook
ZTS•Shares fall after outlook cut
Zoetis shares fell 2.53% to $72.51 in premarket trading after the animal health company lowered its annual outlook.
The company expects 2026 adjusted EPS of $6.15-$6.25 per share, compared with its prior forecast of $6.85-$7.00 per share.
It now expects 2026 revenue of $9.12 billion-$9.32 billion, down from its prior view of $9.68 billion-$9.96 billion; analysts on average were expecting $9.73 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG.
Quarterly results and commentary
Zoetis posted second-quarter adjusted EPS of $1.87 versus estimates of $1.86.
"Second quarter results reflected a more pressured Companion Animal market, as lower clinic visits and pet owner price sensitivity reduced demand across parts of our portfolio and heightened competition in key categories," said CEO Kristin Peck.
As of last close, the stock was down about 41% year to date.
