60 Degrees Pharma hits minimum enrollment trigger for interim readout in severe babesiosis tafenoquine trial

60 Degrees Pharmaceuticals reached the minimum 24-patient enrollment for an interim analysis in its hospitalized severe babesiosis trial of tafenoquine.

Results have not been presented; an interim data readout is scheduled no later than Oct. 6, 2026.

The interim review will assess whether tafenoquine speeds sustained clinical recovery, with a secondary look at parasite clearance, without detailing performance metrics.

A positive primary endpoint could stop the study early; other outcomes could prompt added enrollment or a close for lack of expected benefit.

The company plans an FDA meeting after the readout to discuss a potential supplemental NDA pathway for babesiosis.
