ABB entered a technology partnership with Ferrari Hypersail to develop advanced onboard direct-current electrification for a 100-foot foiling yacht.
800 VDC system and onboard microgrid
ABB said its role as electrification partner targets an 800 VDC power system, integrated with 48 V systems, to run a self-sufficient onboard microgrid.
The scope includes DC system integration, energy management, intelligent power distribution, energy storage, and real-time monitoring under extreme offshore conditions.
