ADM, CJ CheilJedang form joint venture for feed-grade amino acid production in Americas
ADM•ADM and CJ CheilJedang agreed to form a joint venture for feed-grade amino acid production in the Americas, combining CJ’s fermentation technology with ADM’s U.S. manufacturing footprint and feedstock supply. CJ will hold a majority stake, and the venture’s launch is subject to customary closing steps and regulatory approvals.
1. Joint venture plans
The venture will combine CJ’s plants in Iowa and Brazil, ADM’s amino acid plant in Decatur, Illinois, and CJ sales offices across the Americas. It will have exclusive rights to manufacture and sell feed-grade amino acids in North and South America, with a focus on supporting domestic production, especially lysine.
