Aeluma Secures Over $4M in U.S. Government Contracts to Scale Quantum Platforms
Aeluma won over $4 million in U.S. government contracts to scale its heterogeneous integration platform for quantum dot lasers and nonlinear photonic materials. Partnerships with Tower Semiconductor and Sumitomo Chemical will support wafer production and fabrication to accelerate commercialization across AI infrastructure, defense and quantum markets.
1. Award Details and Strategic Funding
Aeluma received over $4 million in U.S. government contracts to develop and scale its heterogeneous integration platform for quantum dot lasers and AlGaAs nonlinear photonic materials. This non-dilutive funding directly supports wafer production expansion and targeted demonstrations at its Goleta facility.
2. Technology Focus on Quantum Dot Lasers and Photonics
The contracts will accelerate efforts to commercialize quantum dot laser technology using metalorganic chemical vapor deposition for high-volume photonic integrated circuits and advance AlGaAs nonlinear materials on 200mm and 300mm silicon for quantum communication and computing.
3. Manufacturing Partnerships to Scale Production
Collaboration with Tower Semiconductor and Sumitomo Chemical Advanced Technology will expand wafer fabrication capabilities, enabling high-throughput production on larger silicon wafers and strengthening Aeluma’s position in AI infrastructure, defense, and quantum markets.
