The European Commission closed its preliminary review of AES's merger on October 28, 2026, satisfying a closing condition. Under a March 1, 2026, agreement, Horizon Parent's subsidiary Horizon Merger Sub will merge into AES, which will survive. At closing, owners will include investment vehicles affiliated with Global Infrastructure Management and EQT Infrastructure VI, alongside other investors.
