Agenus reports 51% of patients survive at least 18 months in BOT+BAL colorectal cancer trial
AGEN•Agenus reported that 51% of patients in a trial of botensilimab and balstilimab survived at least 18 months. The findings involved heavily pretreated patients with microsatellite-stable metastatic colorectal cancer without active liver metastases.
1. Trial findings
Agenus reported durable survival in Phase 1b findings for botensilimab and balstilimab in refractory colorectal cancer, presented at SITC 2026. The study involved heavily pretreated patients with microsatellite-stable metastatic disease without active liver metastases; some long-term survivors remained off all cancer treatment. Fewer prior treatments were associated with better survival outcomes. No treatment-related deaths occurred, and immune-mediated diarrhea or colitis resolved in nearly all affected long-term survivors.
2. Further evaluation
The findings support earlier treatment evaluation, including the Phase 3 ROBBIN strategy testing the combination before surgery in high-risk colon cancer.
