AI cuts some Deutsche Bank corporate loan decisions to minutes
DB•Deutsche Bank says AI has reduced decisions on some smaller corporate loans from weeks to minutes, and decisions for multinational clients from months to weeks. The bank plans more than €2.5 billion in technology spending from 2026 to 2028.
1. Faster loan decisions
A project launched in the summer uses AI to cut decisions on some smaller corporate loans from weeks to minutes, Deutsche Bank technology chief Marie-Jeanne Deverdun said. For some multinational corporate lending, decisions now take weeks rather than months.
2. Cyber risk priority
Deverdun said managing cyber risk is her top priority as the bank prepares for its AI agents to interact with clients’ agents. Deutsche Bank has built an internal platform called ADA to develop, monitor and control AI agents, oversee their activity and manage risk.
3. Technology investment
Deutsche Bank plans more than €2.5 billion in technology spending between 2026 and 2028. The bank is also streamlining legacy systems as it seeks to become a “truly AI-powered bank,” CEO Christian Sewing has said.
