AI infrastructure financing puts higher price on execution risk, Keel Infrastructure says
KEEL•Keel Infrastructure's October 5-18 analysis says AI infrastructure financing increasingly depends on borrower quality and execution risk. It cited CoreWeave bonds below 80 cents on the dollar, proposed Volta financing seeking at least 11%, and Lambda's recently closed facility at 6.78%.
1. Financing terms diverge
Keel Infrastructure's analysis found AI infrastructure financing increasingly dependent on borrower quality and execution risk. CoreWeave fell more than 22% for the week, and its 2032 unsecured bonds traded below 80 cents on the dollar. Investors sought at least 11% for Volta's proposed $5 billion Norway financing, while Lambda recently closed a facility at 6.78%.
2. Execution risks in focus
Google's 3,590-megawatt Constellation agreement highlights how long-term, creditworthy purchase commitments support financing for new generation, the analysis said. Oracle's Project Jupiter pipeline slipped to February 2027, underscoring execution risks increasingly reflected in lease and credit terms.
