Airbus’s Q1 adjusted operating profit plunged 52% to €300 million on a 7% revenue decline to €12.65 billion and 114 commercial jet deliveries, down from 136 as Pratt & Whitney constraints hit. Boeing reclaimed the top spot on quarterly handovers and earlier this month beat loss estimates with broad-based commercial aviation gains.

1. Airbus Q1 Earnings Plunge

Airbus reported a first-quarter adjusted operating profit of €300 million, down 52% from €624 million, on revenue of €12.65 billion, a 7% decline. Commercial aircraft deliveries fell to 114 jets from 136, while defence and space grew 7% and helicopters remained flat.

2. Full-Year Outlook Unchanged

The planemaker left its 2026 targets intact with about 870 commercial deliveries, €7.5 billion of adjusted EBIT and €4.5 billion of free cash flow before customer financing, despite engine supply constraints from Pratt & Whitney.

3. Boeing Recovery and Market Impact

Boeing reclaimed the lead in quarterly handovers for the first time in years with broad-based commercial aviation gains, also surpassing loss estimates earlier this quarter as it continues its recovery from past quality failures.
