This strategic collaboration positions Akamai to extend its proactive Day-2 operations offerings—covering hybrid deployments, quarterly business reviews, API audits and compliance—to thousands of enterprise customers in Europe and beyond.

Through this partnership, Deutsche Telekom Security now provides continuous end-to-end management of the API security lifecycle, including expert incident management and proactive API security testing. It also supports Akamai Guardicore Segmentation environments with segmentation administration, security incident handling and audit and compliance services. All services can be deployed on sovereign cloud infrastructure, addressing data residency requirements and regulatory mandates in highly regulated industries.

Akamai’s enhancements respond to a record surge in API attacks—150 billion recorded between January 2023 and December 2024, according to the 2025 Akamai State of the Internet report. By partnering with Deutsche Telekom Security—an organization with over 25 years of experience, 240 security specialists worldwide and 24/7 SOC operations—Akamai strengthens its ability to support financial institutions and critical-infrastructure operators in preventing data breaches, ensuring compliance and maintaining uninterrupted operations amid escalating cyberthreats.
