AllianceBernstein sees investment opportunities in China's clean-energy materials suppliers
AB•AllianceBernstein sees opportunities in upstream materials and grid infrastructure as overcapacity squeezes profits at China's renewable equipment manufacturers. Its analysis projects China will account for about 60% of global renewable power generation capacity growth from 2024 to 2030.
1. Supply and grid opportunities
AllianceBernstein said materials producers with constrained supply may retain pricing power as excess solar panel and battery supply drives lower prices, competition and thinner margins. It also sees financing opportunities for fixed-income investors in grid expansion, while warning that trade barriers threaten manufacturing profitability and that grid and storage investment must keep pace with renewable deployment.
