Allstate reported fourth-quarter adjusted net income of $3.8 billion, translating to $14.31 per diluted share, an 86.6% increase from $7.67 per share a year earlier. The result comfortably exceeded consensus expectations of $9.82 per share and reflected stronger underwriting performance and improved loss trends across key lines of business.
2. Property-Liability Unit Performance
The Property-Liability segment delivered premiums earned of $14.8 billion, up 6.1% year-over-year, driven by policy in force growth and higher average premiums. Underwriting income more than doubled to $4.0 billion from $1.8 billion, as the recorded combined ratio improved by 14.0 points to 72.9, reflecting lower catastrophe losses (down 49% to $209 million) and favorable reserve development.

Total fourth-quarter revenues reached $17.3 billion, a 5.1% increase versus the prior year, while net income applicable to common shareholders doubled to $3.8 billion. For the full year, revenues rose 5.6% to $67.7 billion, net income climbed to $10.2 billion from $4.6 billion, and adjusted net income returned 38.3% on equity, up from 26.8% in 2024.

Reflecting strong financial results, Allstate announced a common dividend increase to $1.08 per share for payment in the second quarter and a new $4.0 billion share repurchase program following completion of the existing $1.5 billion plan. During 2025, tailored premium reviews reduced rates by an average of 17% for 7.8 million auto and homeowners customers, while total policies in force grew 3.0% year-over-year to 210.9 million.
