Amarin says a new post hoc REDUCE-IT “legacy” analysis presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2026 suggests patients who stayed on icosapent ethyl long enough kept cardiovascular protection for years, even after stopping treatment.
The company said benefits appeared strongest in highly adherent patients, supporting the commercial case for sustained use in high-risk populations.
Amarin also said the analysis indicates earlier gains may persist in secondary prevention patients who discontinued therapy during trial follow-up.
