The University of Leeds-sponsored trial evaluated Vascepa as an adjunctive treatment for colorectal cancer patients undergoing surgery for liver metastases. Results presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology 2026 Congress showed the trial missed its primary endpoint of delaying cancer progression but improved overall survival. Treatment was well tolerated, with no excess adverse events or meaningful deterioration in quality of life versus placebo.
