Amazon Now to Grow to 1,000 Centers in 100 Indian Cities by 2026
AMZN•Flipkart has built 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers for its Minutes service less than two years after launch and plans to expand to 1,500 centers by end-2026. Amazon Now operates over 500 centers in more than 15 cities and aims for 1,000 centers in 100 cities by end-2026, broadening assortment beyond groceries.
1. Flipkart Quick-Commerce Milestone
Flipkart has deployed 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers for its Minutes service less than two years after launch and targets 1,500 centers by end-2026. Demand on Minutes surged 400% year-over-year and customer retention rose 20% as orders broadened into electronics, beauty and personal care.
2. Amazon Now Expansion
Amazon Now currently operates over 500 micro-fulfillment centers across more than 15 Indian cities and plans to scale to 1,000 centers in 100 cities by end-2026. The service will expand beyond groceries into apparel, electronics and home products to capture wider consumer demand.
3. Intensifying Quick-Commerce Competition
Blinkit leads India’s quick-commerce sector with 2,243 centers, while rivals Zepto and Swiggy Instamart are rapidly building their networks. The market is one of the fastest-growing globally as firms invest heavily to enable minute-fast deliveries of essentials and beyond.
