In Q1 2026 AWS achieved a $15 billion annualized run rate for AI services, marking a significant ramp from prior periods. The division plans to add over one million Nvidia GPUs across 2026 and 2027, positioning AWS to support advanced AI workloads and target an estimated $100 billion in annual revenue once fully scaled.

2. Acquisition of Globalstar

Amazon agreed to acquire satellite services provider Globalstar for $11.57 billion, a move intended to secure valuable spectrum licenses and expand its enterprise IoT offerings. The deal is projected to close in 2027 and will integrate Globalstar’s existing satellite infrastructure and customer base into Amazon’s cloud and connectivity ecosystem.

3. Expanded AI Cloud Partnership with Fox

The company bolstered its media and entertainment footprint by naming AWS the preferred provider for AI workloads on Fox’s direct-to-consumer platform. Under the renewed agreement, AWS will supply AI and machine learning tools alongside content delivery services to support Fox’s media operations and monetization efforts.
