1. Delta Switches to Project Kuiper
Delta Air Lines awarded Amazon’s Project Kuiper the contract to furnish in-flight connectivity on roughly 1,200 aircraft, opting to phase out existing Viasat and Hughes Wi-Fi systems. The move leverages Delta’s existing Amazon Web Services relationship and gives Kuiper a high-profile launch customer among major global carriers.
2. Project Kuiper Deployment Progress
Since April 2025, Project Kuiper has placed 214 satellites into orbit and secured 100 launch slots with Blue Origin, United Launch Alliance and SpaceX’s Falcon 9. The venture aims to complete 20+ missions over the next 12 months, enabling limited commercial service in select regions before scaling up as the full 3,200-satellite constellation is deployed.
