Ameresco JV to Build 1.2 Million MMBtu/Yr RNG Facility in Nebraska

AMRCAMRC

Ameresco-backed Neogenyx Fuels and Adams Land & Cattle have commenced construction on a Nebraska RNG facility featuring eight anaerobic digesters to generate 4,400 SCFM of biogas, upgrading to approximately 1.2 million MMBtu per year of pipeline-quality gas. The project aims to avoid 63,700 metric tons of CO2 annually.

1. Project Commencement and Specifications

Construction has begun on the Adams Land & Cattle feedlot RNG facility in Broken Bow, Nebraska, operated by Neogenyx Fuels, a joint venture of Ameresco and HASI. The site will deploy eight anaerobic digesters processing manure to produce over 4,400 SCFM of biogas, subsequently upgraded into 1.2 million MMBtu per year of pipeline-quality renewable natural gas.

2. Environmental and Portfolio Impact

By converting livestock waste into RNG, the facility is projected to avoid approximately 63,700 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually. This project adds to Neogenyx Fuels’ non-electric portfolio—which now totals over 13.2 million MMBtu per year—and underscores Ameresco’s growth in low-carbon fuel solutions.
